99: The 7 Types Of Rest with Phoebe Hart, How To Attune To & Honour Your Needs & Find More Balance In Life
Today I am joined by Phoebe Hart for a powerful conversation on the importance of rest and the different types of rest.
The 7 types of rest, researched and defined by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, physician, researcher, and author, are physical, mental, sensory, creative, emotional, social, and spiritual. Pheobe also mentions an 8th type that she discovered which is sexual rest.
We explore the different types of rest more deeply in this episode, why it's important, and how to tune into your body to become aware of what type of rest you need and how to meet that need so that you can have more balance, peace, and ease in your nervous system and your life.
There is so much conditioning that keeps us busy, overwhelmed, stressed, and burnt out. So many people are constantly trying to tackle a never-ending to-do list, chasing their tails and stressing out leading to further pain, suffering, and illness.
By learning how to slow down, tune into your body, and make rest a priority you will be able to cultivate more balance, ease, and harmony in your life, allowing you to enjoy your life more and thrive in all areas of your life and relationships.

Phoebe Hart
From dancing on the West End stage in London to teaching yoga on the beaches of Indonesia, my journey to sharing somatic practice has been a profound exploration of surrendering to and unearthing my true sense of self through movement modalities, and healing techniques.
With more than a decade of embodied experience in dance, movement and and yogic practices, my services are deeply rooted in the art of self-discovery through the intricate connection between mind and body. With this I advocate for embracing and welcoming rest not merely as a reward, but as a fundamental necessity in our journey towards holistic well-being.
